Core 5 Flag Football – Referee (Seasonal) 

Our league focuses on providing a great family environment for our community to enjoy, all while developing our Athletes into great football players. We offer our league to all new and existing levels of competition. Our league focuses on building great character among our athletes through developing a culture of coaches, families and staff who truly care about making a positive impact in our youth. What you’ll do (Job Responsibilities):

• Understand & enforce the Core 5 Flag Football rule book ensuring a fun, learning, and safety for all players.
• Observing players during play and regulating the game, and interpreting flag football rules. 
• Communicating respectfully with players, coaches, parents, and other referees.
• Making decisions and resolving disputes between teams.
• Recording game score and managing time of games.
• Promoting good sportsmanship through respectful behavior to both coaches and teams.
• Ability to operate ball pumps, flags and whistles.
• In tip-top shape. A lot of running goes into officiating so it’ll help if you are physically fit.
• Wear professional sports attire.
• Set-up and break down league booth and fields

What you’ll bring (Minimum Qualifications):

• Must be 16 years of age or older 
• Prior flag football referee experience is a plus or the desire to learn the sport
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly motivated self-starter; can work independently & solve problems
• Passion for enhancing youth sports within your community

More about the role (Additional Position Details):

• Work Schedule: scheduled times may fluctuate based on the league needs for the duration of the 6-7 week season
  • Locations
    • Anthem: 4pm to 10pm Friday, 8am to 3pm Saturday for special events and playoffs 
    • North Peoria (Paloma Park): 4pm to 10pm Friday
    • Pinnacle Park (101 & Cave Creek area): 8am-2pm

• Pay Range: $16 - $25 per hour based on experience
