About the role

GradedGuard has already built active, established social media communities around protecting and personalizing graded collectibles (trading cards). We are looking for an early-career Social Media Community Manager to help those communities feel heard, welcomed, and worth returning to.

The heart of this role is staying close to the conversation. You will monitor comments, messages, mentions, tags, and collector discussions; interact with fans in GradedGuard's voice; encourage participation; recognize loyal community members; and help the team understand what collectors are thinking and talking about.

This is a paid, part-time individual-contributor role that sits between a traditional internship and a full entry-level position. The word "Manager" refers to managing day-to-day community engagement and relationships, not supervising employees. You will receive direction and feedback while owning meaningful, visible work on mature social channels.

What you will do:

Keep a consistent pulse on GradedGuard's active social media communities by monitoring assigned channels for comments, direct messages, mentions, tags, questions, and emerging conversations during agreed coverage windows.

Respond thoughtfully on behalf of GradedGuard, using the company's voice and good judgment to make fans feel recognized, answer routine questions, and keep conversations constructive and welcoming.

Start and join conversations that invite collectors to participate, share opinions, show off their collections, celebrate hobby moments, and connect with one another.

Recognize active community members, collector stories, fan-created content, and opportunities for user-generated content; obtain permission before reposting customer or creator material.

Track recurring questions, community sentiment, product feedback, points of friction, and collector trends, then share concise community-pulse updates with the marketing and product teams.

Identify comments or messages that need customer-service, product, legal, or leadership support and route them promptly without guessing, arguing, or making commitments the company has not approved.

Support launches, promotions, giveaways, conventions, live events, and other moments when the community is especially active.

Help publish lightweight, community-first content such as questions, polls, conversation prompts, collector spotlights, reactions, and timely updates. Original content creation supports the role but is not its primary focus.

Review basic engagement and response data to identify what strengthens participation, loyalty, and the quality of community conversations.

What we are looking for

A genuine interest in interacting with people online and an instinct for making community members feel seen rather than processed.

Clear, friendly writing and good judgment about tone, timing, humor, boundaries, and how a brand should participate in public conversations.

The ability to learn and consistently use an established brand voice while still sounding natural and human.

Comfort working with mature social accounts where the audience already exists and the goal is to deepen involvement, trust, and repeat participation.

Curiosity about collectibles and a willingness to learn the language, personalities, humor, and norms of sports-card, trading-card-game, grading, and collector communities.

Dependability in a flexible remote environment: you check assigned channels during agreed windows, communicate clearly, meet commitments, and raise issues early.

Calm judgment when handling criticism, complaints, sensitive topics, spam, or conflict, including knowing when to respond, escalate, hide, or leave a conversation alone.

Examples of relevant work or participation. These may come from a job, personal account, fan community, school assignment, student organization, volunteer role, or sample responses created for this application.

Helpful, but not required

Experience moderating or engaging a brand account, Facebook group, Discord server, subreddit, creator page, fan group, campus organization, customer community, or other online space.

Familiarity with sports cards, trading card games, graded collectibles, e-commerce, customer service, influencer relationships, or hobby conventions.

Comfort with social scheduling, moderation, analytics, Canva, CapCut, Adobe apps, or similar tools. Expertise in every platform or tool is NOT expected.

What success looks like in the first 90 days

You learn GradedGuard's products, voice, audiences, response guidelines, and escalation process, then begin engaging confidently with appropriate oversight.

Fans receive consistent, thoughtful responses, community conversations feel more active, and important questions or concerns reach the right internal team quickly.

You can clearly explain the community's mood, recurring interests, questions, and opportunities, and you use those insights to recommend practical ways to deepen participation.

Flexibility and availability

The schedule is flexible, but community work is time-sensitive. The selected candidate and manager will agree on recurring coverage windows, expected response times, and collaboration periods. Work outside those windows can generally be completed asynchronously. Limited evening or weekend coverage may be requested for scheduled launches, events, or especially active community moments. Whenever possible, that coverage will be planned in advance and counted as paid working time.

Compensation and benefits

The anticipated base-pay range is $20.00-$26.00 per hour. The final rate will be determined in good faith based on the selected candidate's work location, relevant experience, and demonstrated skills. This role is eligible for overtime and other wage protections as required by applicable law.

Company-sponsored benefits: none currently offered for this part-time role. Paid sick leave and any other legally required benefits will be provided based on the employee's work location. The role offers a flexible schedule and remote work arrangement.

Submit a resume. Please do not include salary history, a headshot, or personal information unrelated to your qualifications.
