Do you love playing the ukulele and believe music has the power to inspire, connect, and build confidence?

We're looking for an enthusiastic and engaging Part-Time Ukulele Instructor to lead fun, interactive after-school enrichment classes for students this fall. This is your opportunity to introduce young learners to the excitement of playing an instrument while helping them develop creativity, perseverance, teamwork, and self-expression.

Students will explore the fundamentals of ukulele through hands-on learning, including chords, rhythm, strumming techniques, musical expression, and performing familiar songs. Along the way, they'll build confidence, improve focus, strengthen listening skills, and experience the satisfaction of creating music together.

You don't need formal teaching experience to make a meaningful impact. If you're comfortable playing the ukulele, enjoy working with children, and are excited to share your passion for music, we'd love to hear from you.

We provide curriculum guidance, lesson resources, and ongoing support so you can focus on creating engaging, memorable, and inclusive learning experiences.

What You'll Do

As our Ukulele Instructor, you will:

• Lead engaging, beginner-friendly ukulele classes in a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment
• Teach fundamental ukulele skills, including:
  • Proper instrument handling and playing technique
  • Basic chords and smooth chord transitions
  • Strumming patterns and rhythm
  • Music fundamentals and beginner music vocabulary
• Guide students through songs, practice activities, games, and collaborative performances
• Encourage creativity, musical exploration, and self-expression
• Build students' confidence as they develop new musical skills
• Adapt lessons to support different learning styles, experience levels, and abilities
• Create an inclusive classroom where every student feels welcomed, respected, and encouraged to participate
• Provide positive feedback that motivates students to continue learning
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
• Communicate professionally with school staff and program coordinators
• Arrive prepared and excited to deliver an exceptional music experience

Formal teaching experience is not required.

Experience working with children through tutoring, coaching, camps, recreation programs, youth organizations, music lessons, or community programs is a plus, but we also welcome first-time instructors who are eager to learn.
