Assistant Spanish Coach
Assistant Coach (Spanish Immersion Afterschool Enrichment Program)
Pay: $25-$35/hour
Schedule: 1-3 afternoons per week (approximately 2:00-6:00 p.m.)
Location: Long Island City, Queens
About ¡Eso! Play Lab
¡Eso! Play Lab is a play-based Spanish immersion program where kids build confidence speaking Spanish through games, movement, STEM, art, and imaginative play. Our mission is to make Spanish fun, increase children's confidence using the language, and create an environment where speaking Spanish feels natural, exciting, and rewarding.
Minimum Requirements
- Fluent in spoken Spanish and able to communicate exclusively in Spanish with participants throughout each shift.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Available to work 1-3 weekday afternoon shifts per week.
- Experience working with children (school, camp, childcare, tutoring, or similar).
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Able to pass any required background checks and complete any required training before working with children.
Expected Responsibilities
- Support the Head Coach in all aspects of the program and follow their direction throughout each shift.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at all times.
- Speak exclusively in Spanish with participants during program hours.
- Assist with school pickup and safely transport children to the program site when assigned.
- Help supervise snack, homework, transitions, and daily routines.
- Lead or assist with games, crafts, STEM activities, movement, and other experiences planned by the Head Coach.
- Build positive relationships with children while encouraging participation and conversation in Spanish.
- Help prepare materials, set up activities, clean up, and assist wherever needed to keep the program running smoothly.
- Communicate professionally with the Head Coach regarding attendance, behavior, safety concerns, or other important information.
