Position: Social Media & Storytelling Intern (Federal Work-Study)
Hours:10-15 hours
Position Summary
The Social Media & Storytelling Intern will help share the mission and impact of The Vincent House through social media, email communications, photography, video, and digital storytelling. This role is ideal for a student studying marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, graphic design, digital media, or a related field who is passionate about using creative communication to strengthen community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Create engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms.
- Plan, write, design, and distribute monthly email newsletters highlighting student stories, program updates, upcoming events, and organizational impact.
- Photograph and film after-school programs, special events, and community activities.
- Edit photos and short-form videos (Reels, Stories, etc.).
- Write compelling captions, blog posts, and website content that tell the stories of our students, families, volunteers, and community.
- Design graphics for social media, newsletters, fundraising campaigns, and special events using Canva or similar software.
- Maintain a content calendar and schedule social media and email communications.
- Track engagement metrics for social media and email campaigns and recommend strategies for growth.
- Support fundraising campaigns, volunteer recruitment, and community outreach through strategic communications.
Qualifications
- Eligible for Federal Work-Study.
- Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Experience with or willingness to learn Canva, email marketing platforms (such as Mailchimp), and social media management tools.
- Creative, dependable, and able to work independently.
- Comfortable interacting with children, families, staff, and community partners.
