About You
- Studying or graduated from a program in journalism, broadcast journalism, multimedia journalism, communications, television production, film, digital media, or a related field.
- Passionate about storytelling through both video and digital media.
- Comfortable speaking on camera or interested in developing your on-camera presentation skills.
- Strong interest in entertainment, music, fashion, lifestyle, pop culture, and current events.
- Knowledge of YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and other digital media platforms.
- Familiarity with video production, lighting, microphones, cameras, or mobile journalism equipment is considered an asset.
- Basic knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut is an asset.
- Available part-time (minimum 8 hours/week) or full-time for at least 4 months.
- Strong communication, interviewing, and storytelling skills.
- Highly organized, creative, and able to manage multiple projects.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Passionate about learning modern multimedia journalism and digital broadcasting.
- Willing to travel locally for interviews, events, concerts, or media coverage when opportunities arise (optional, depending on location).
- Professional, confident, and comfortable representing the Funktasy brand both on and off camera.
- Highly organized, motivated, and able to work independently.
- Proactive and able to manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Capable of handling confidential information with professionalism.
- Experience as a social media creator or influencer is an asset.
Multimedia Journalism Internship Role
Funktasy – Magazine & Music Group is looking for highly motivated, creative, and organized individuals with a passion for multimedia journalism, digital storytelling, and entertainment media. This internship is ideal for aspiring multimedia journalists, broadcast reporters, presenters, documentary producers, and digital storytellers who are eager to gain real-world experience in today’s evolving media landscape.
As part of the Multimedia Journalism team, you will transform stories into engaging visual content through documentary-style features, on-camera reporting, interviews, narration, explainers, and YouTube productions. Working alongside our editorial, social media, design, and marketing teams, you’ll contribute to original content that reaches audiences across YouTube, social media, and other digital platforms.
Throughout the internship, you’ll gain practical experience in video journalism, storytelling, interviewing, production planning, script writing, on-camera presentation, and digital publishing while helping bring the stories behind entertainment, music, fashion, lifestyle, and pop culture to life.
Your Responsibilities
- You will research, develop, and produce engaging multimedia stories for Funktasy Magazine and Funktasy Music Group across entertainment, music, fashion, lifestyle, and pop culture.
- You will transform existing and newly published Funktasy Magazine articles into compelling YouTube-style videos, documentaries, explainers, interviews, narrated features, and other engaging visual productions, either independently or in collaboration with Funktasy’s video editing team.
- You will research topics, write scripts, and develop storyboards for multimedia productions.
- You will conduct interviews with artists, celebrities, industry professionals, and brand representatives both on-camera and virtually.
- You will appear on camera as a presenter, reporter, correspondent, or narrator where appropriate and based on your strengths.
- You will assist in planning, organizing, and producing video shoots for interviews, events, concerts, product features, and lifestyle content.
- You will operate cameras, microphones, lighting equipment, and other production tools during recordings when required.
- You will edit video content using industry-standard editing software to create engaging long-form and short-form productions.
- You will collaborate with the editorial, social media, graphic design, and marketing teams to create multimedia campaigns across multiple platforms.
- You will create content optimized for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other digital media platforms.
- You will assist with YouTube production workflows, including titles, thumbnails, descriptions, metadata, and audience engagement strategies.
- You will research trending topics, entertainment news, and viral conversations to help develop original multimedia content.
- You will contribute creative ideas for documentaries, entertainment reports, interviews, travel features, product reviews, and special productions.
- You will maintain high journalistic standards by verifying facts, conducting thorough research, and ensuring accuracy across all multimedia content.
- You will assist with production planning, scheduling, equipment preparation, and other administrative tasks related to multimedia projects.
- You must be comfortable sharing creative ideas and collaborating with internal teams throughout the production process.
- You must have an eye for viral trends which are the perfect fit to push our tracks and brand campaigns forward and deliver out of the box ideas.
- You must be comfortable in sharing ideas with internal teams.

Internship Terms & Conditions
- Funktasy Internship Programs are unpaid. Upon request, Funktasy is willing to work with a student to receive academic credit through their school/university program.
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- We do not offer housing or travel accommodations.
- We do not offer any work visas for international students.
- All internship programs are in English.
Duration & Schedule
- Length: Standard internship term is 4 months (approx. 140 hours total). Extensions may be available if desired.
- Weekly Commitment: 8 hours per week, with half of those hours (4 hrs/week) dedicated to mandatory online group meetings.
- Start Dates: Internships begin every two months (bi-monthly start dates). Placements are first-come, first-served.
- Registration: We recommend applying 3–6 months in advance to secure your preferred term.
- School Credit: If your school requires additional hours for credit, schedules can be adjusted accordingly.
