Landscape Designer

We're looking for a Landscape Designer ready to sharpen their craft on some of Louisville's most notable high-end residential projects. You'll take concepts from first sketch to buildable plan, working closely with our design leadership and production teams to bring outdoor living spaces to life. This is a hands-on design role: you will sketch concepts, draft construction documents, meet clients on site, and walk finished projects with the crews who built them.

 Founded in 1994, Dwyer DesignScapes is one of Louisville's most established landscape design-build firms, known for notable landscapes, hardscapes, and outdoor living spaces for high-end residential clients and select commercial properties across the metro area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop concept sketches, planting plans, and presentation drawings for high-end residential design-build projects 

- Draft precise, buildable construction documents using DynaScape or similar landscape CAD software 

- Participate in client meetings and site visits, translating client vision into workable designs 

- Select and specify plant material suited to Kentucky's climate, growing zones, and site conditions 

- Support estimating and proposal preparation for design-build projects 

- Coordinate with the production and installation teams to make sure your designs translate accurately in the field 

QUALIFICATIONS 

- 3-5 years of professional experience in residential landscape design (design-build firm experience a strong plus) 

- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field, or an equivalent portfolio of professional design work 

- Proficiency with DynaScape or similar landscape CAD software 

- Strong hand-sketching and graphic presentation skills 

- Solid plant knowledge; familiarity with Kentucky's climate and growing zones is a plus 

- Comfortable in client-facing settings 

PREFERRED 

- Experience assisting with estimating or proposal writing 

- Familiarity with hardscape materials and construction detailing 

- A portfolio that includes high-end residential work
