Entomology Research Assistant
The student research assistant/ part-time research technician will work under the supervision of Dr. Pin-Chu Lai, assistant professor and extension entomologist at PREEC in Scottsbluff, NE. The student research assistant/part-time research technician will work with research technicians and graduate students, assisting with research activities in the lab, greenhouse, and field. Specific activities include, but are not limited to, counting insects under a microscope, collecting samples in the field, housekeeping tasks in the lab, and maintaining field trials. No experience required!
Requirements
- Able to follow instructions and protocols for research activities
- Able to learn specific skills to process plant and insect samples, such as dissecting plant tissues and insect identification
- Able to work in a team setting and independently while assigned to specific tasks
- Good communication skills and work ethic
- Understand the importance of research integrity
