Student Volunteer Intern
Calling all undergraduate and graduate students across the country! Your voice is needed! OSHA is looking for a Student Volunteer Intern for its Office of Communications (OOC)! Students pursuing a variety of majors and degrees are sought to strengthen the agency's corporate communications programs and initiatives. Some of the duties the student intern will perform include:
- Supporting the day-to-day communications activities with office leadership
- Assisting in drafting social media posts, blogs, newsletters, and web content
- Editing and proofreading communications materials while applying student learning to real-world writing, developing clarity and audience awareness
- Conducting audience or topic research, and assisting with compiling communication reports and online presence analytics
- Participating in brainstorming sessions during strategic communications meetings
- Researching media outlets and journalists and assisting with tracking media coverage
- Assisting with promoting OSHA events or communication and campaign plans; helping to develop post-event summaries
- Organizing files and shared resources, assisting with scheduling and meeting notes and helps with tracking deadlines.
In order to be eligible for consideration, students must be:
- At least 16 years of age.
- Enrolled at least part-time in a post-baccalaureate educational program.
- In good academic standing, as defined by the educational institution. In many instances, this means earning a 2.0 GPA.
- Be a United States Citizen or eligible to work in the United States with at least three years of continual residency within the country.
- Be compensated via a private stipend or the conferring of academic credit.
