Speech Language Pathologist

Job Overview
The early interventionist (speech) provides family-centered, early intervention services to infants and toddlers and their families following local, state, and federal guidelines. The early interventionist is responsible for delivering developmental assessments and services (home visits, consultations, parent coaching) that address the child’s developmental delays and meet the unique needs of participating families.
Job Duties
● Provide assessments, analyze results, and effectively communicate assessment findings to participating families
● Develop Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) based on assessment results and family’s routines and priorities
● Facilitate visits and services for participating families
● Create positive outcomes for children and families
● Collaborate, consult with, and coach families, early intervention personnel, and other stakeholders
● Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality when working with sensitive information
● Adhere to regulatory timelines and other procedures for federal, state, and local regulations

Required Knowledge and Skills
● Knowledge of typical and atypical infant and toddler development
● Knowledge of influence of environmental, cultural/linguistic, family, and
health/medical/socio-economic factors on child growth and development
● Strong interpersonal, intercultural, and communication skills, both verbal and written
● Ability to adjust to changing circumstances and priorities.
● Project management skills
● Able to effectively schedule and coordinate service times with families. Able to be flexible to the changing needs and circumstances of families
● Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
● Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Education and Experience
● Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Speech Therapy
● License to practice in the state of North Dakota
● Experience in early child development, special education, or developmental disabilities is strongly preferred
● Drivers license and/or reliable transportation required
● 1 - 3 years of experience in an early intervention program, or equivalent educational or work experience preferred
