Math Instructor

Mathnasium, an after school Math Learning Center has openings for a highly skilled and motivated instructor who has a strong math background and good communication skills. Must be engaging with children from grades K-12 and be able to teach up to and including Algebra 2.

Previous math tutoring experience is a plus, but not a requirement. A love of Math is though!

Shifts fall between the hours of 2:15 - 7 PM Monday-Friday during the school year. In the summer, shifts fall during both morning and afternoon hours.

All of the instruction is done within the Mathnasium Center.

**This is NOT a summer-only position. Training takes 2 months and, as such, we are looking for someone who can commit to 6 months minimum.

Instructors will be trained to teach students using our Mathnasium Method and Curriculum. We are not a homework help center, we are a learning center. Mathnasium's role in our students' learning is to help them catch up in math and understand core concepts at a deep level. While we do provide some classroom support as well, this job is not simply helping student's with their daily math homework.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions in various math subjects, including algebra, geometry, and our Mathnasium curriculum.
• Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that cater to individual student needs and learning styles.
• Utilize learning technology to enhance the tutoring experience and track student progress.
• Foster a positive learning environment by managing classroom dynamics and encouraging student engagement.
• Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress and areas for improvement.
