Director of Teaching and Learning
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required.
- PA certification as Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction or a Letterof Eligibility.
- At leastfive (5) yearsof Administrative experience.
- Knowledge of current legislation and trends in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development.
- Ability to conceptualize how STEM, Humanities, Special Education, Technology, and English Language Development programs intersect and operate cohesively.
- Excellent communication and human relations skills.
- Expertise in technology as it is integrated in the curriculum and used for assessment, data collection, and analysis.
- Original certificates of clearance from the StatePolice, Child AbuseRegistry, and PDE FBI.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the data-driven system and an operational framework for systematic review of curriculum design, delivery, and evaluation based on PDE Common Core Standards (career and college ready), 21st century practices, workforce readiness, and student achievement data. Plans,organizes, directs, and implements particular activities related to curricular change.
- Assess and determine protocols for evaluating existingand new curricular processes and practices and instructional and assessment procedures and practices.
- Champion modern,evidence-based instructional strategies, integrating technology and diverse learning modalities into daily classroom practices.
- Serve as an instructional leader overseeing ongoingdata-driven professional development and the new teacher induction program.
- Collaborate with building-level administrators to support the consistent and high-quality implementation of educational programs and achievement and diagnostic testing programs across all district schools.
- Guide instructional supervisors in utilizingstudent achievement data to identifylearning gaps, evaluate program efficacy, and adjust curriculum delivery.
- Collaborate with the Technology team implementing and overseeing systemsfor data collection and analysis of all internal and external assessments related to student achievement.
- Collaborate with the StudentServices team to ensure that curriculum, instruction, and intervention frameworks are integrated and accessible for all learners.
- Collaborate with the AssistantSuperintendent to develop,monitor, and manage the curriculum and instruction budget.
- Communicate and support districteducational philosophy, goals,programs, and policies to staff, students, and the community consistent across all programming.
- Maintain contactwith the Pennsylvania Department of Educationto maintain current information on new or changing federal or state programs and legislation.
- Maintain liaisonwith professional and community organizations.
- Conduct classroom observations.
- Assist in identifying, selecting, and using community resources, educational entities, and business partners in the total instructional program.
- Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreastof the latest trends in the field of expertiseand technology, and disseminate this knowledge to other staff members.
- Perform otherjob-related duties as required or assigned by the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or Board.
Terms of Employment: 12 Month
Salary (benefits included): Salary commensurate with experience per the Act 93 Agreement
