Position Description
The Campus Technology Helpdesk Support EDGE Intern assists students, faculty, and staff with technology-related questions and support needs across campus. This position provides hands-on experience in customer service, technology troubleshooting, helpdesk operations, inventory management, and technical documentation.
Through daily interaction with campus technology systems and users, interns develop practical skills in problem-solving, communication, and technology support while contributing to the efficient operation of campus computer labs, classroom technology, and technology resources.

Key Responsibilities
Technology Support & Customer Service
- Assist students, faculty, and staff with technology-related questions and basic troubleshooting.
- Support users in connecting devices to campus Wi-Fi, printers, and other technology resources.
- Provide professional customer service through in-person, phone, and helpdesk interactions.
- Serve as a first point of contact for technology support requests when appropriate.
Helpdesk Operations & Asset Management
- Monitor assigned helpdesk tickets and support timely follow-up and resolution.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for technology equipment and peripherals.
- Assist with equipment organization, storage, and technology lifecycle management activities.
- Support the operation of computer labs and residence hall printer locations by helping ensure technology resources remain functional and available.
Technology Projects
- Develop and maintain technical documentation that supports classroom technology, helpdesk operations, and campus technology resources.
- Create or update Classroom Technology Profiles, equipment documentation, troubleshooting guides, and reference materials as departmental needs evolve.
- Contribute to a variety of technology projects that improve campus technology services, user support, and operational efficiency
Experiential Learning Opportunities
EDGE Interns gain hands-on experience through a variety of technology projects that support campus operations throughout the academic year. Depending on departmental priorities, interns may contribute to technical documentation, classroom technology updates, inventory and asset management, equipment deployment, workstation setup, technology testing, process improvement initiatives, and other projects that enhance technology services for the Converse community.

- Enrolled Converse University student in good academic standing.
- Interest in technology, information systems, computer science, technical support, or related fields.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to learn new technology systems, software, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Ability to analyze problems and identify appropriate solutions.
- Ability to work professionally with students, faculty, and staff.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Standing for extended periods.
- Lifting and carrying materials.
- Participation in event setup and breakdown activities.
Supervision, Mentorship & Evaluation
EDGE Interns receive ongoing coaching, mentorship, and feedback throughout the academic year. Supervisors provide guidance on workplace expectations, technology support practices, professional development, and operational responsibilities.
As part of the Converse EDGE Internship Program, interns participate in a structured assessment process designed to measure growth in career readiness competencies and professional development.
