Korean Language Program Reader
The Department of East Asian Studies in the School of Humanities is seeking a Korean language Reader to work part-time in the Fall 2026, Winter 2027 and Spring 2027 quarters.
Key Responsibilities:

Social media support:
- Creating posts for the social media accounts of the Korean program at UCI.

Grading and Assessment:
- Assist in grading assignments, quizzes, and exams under the guidance of the instructor.

Administrative Tasks:
- Assist in preparing and organizing instructional materials and resources.
- Maintain and update course records, including attendance and grade tracking.

Classroom Support:
- Help with organizing and managing classroom materials and technology.
Qualifications:

Language Proficiency:
- Advanced proficiency in Korean, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Skills:
- Should be able to type in Korean/English.
- Should have sufficient computer skills.
- Familiarity with social media language is highly desirable.

Work Hours:
- Flexible hours based on class schedules, program needs, typically 4-6 hours per week. Working hours will vary based on the amount of work-study funding the applicant has received.
Requirements:
- Work-study funding. Applicants are required to provide proof of an accepted work-study award for the 2026-27 academic year.
- Native or near-native knowledge of both spoken and written Korean.
- Ability to type in Korean/English.
- Sufficient computer skills.
