Description

1.  
   1. Assesses the effectiveness of center programs through data collection, analysis, and reporting to identify areas for improvement.
   2. Trains and supports staff to use data and reporting to support data-based decision making at the center level and program level.
   3. Collaborates with center staff and the Manager of Program Services to maintain accurate records of student progress, program attendance, and required reports to meet organizational and regulatory compliance.
   4. Partners with parents & schools to track and support student progress.
   5. Manages the comprehensive collection and reporting of information for programs; ensures the regular review of routine processes for data collection and reporting.
   6. Structures the database(s) and reporting to align with programming goals and reporting requirements.
   7. Completes the regular and as needed reporting to funding agencies and donors on program performance.
   8. Develops and manages the center program budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
2. Community Engagement Responsibilities (10%)
   1. Collaborates with the program staff build relationships with local schools, libraries, colleges, and other community organizations to access additional resources and support for youth.
   2. In conjunction with the program staff, develops collaborative partnerships with other youth serving organizations, youth, parents, families, and community organizations.
   3. In conjunction with the program staff, increases visibility of Center programs via posting of events, announcements of upcoming events and the dissemination of timely information for the development of advertising and promotion through mailings, fliers, and media releases.

Other Responsibilities:

• May be responsible for safely transporting center members and staff to or from school, activities or programs, and is responsible for the proper reporting of maintenance, cleanliness, and safety needs of the assigned vehicle.
• May provide leadership or supervision for special programs and/or events.
• Participates in the implementation of other activities, as necessary.
• May consult with parents concerning youth and center issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What we are looking for in you:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field

and

Three (3) years of proven experience in managing programs for youth, preferably in an after-school or community center setting.

or

any equivalent combination of education/experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Position requires regular business hours, afternoon, evening, nights, and weekends as needed to provide oversight to programs, attend events and address urgent matters.

Bon-a-fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ):

Must be over the age of 21 to drive a center vehicle to transport youth to/from the Red Shield Youth Center and for field trips.

License and Certification

Valid State Driver’s license

Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Must be able to remain in stationary position frequently.

Occasionally move about the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, attend meetings and the like.

Frequently move about the community to complete job duties.

Frequently operate a computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine, printer, and the like.

Frequently communicates with staff, partners, community, and the like to conduct regular business operations.

Seldom move boxes or items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Daily operation and use of software and computer applications required for business functions.

Occasional to frequent operation of a personal motor vehicle and operation of company vehicle relevant to carrying out job duties required for the position.

Frequently spend time in intense concentration reviewing and entering information into computer.

Ability to communicate with individuals utilizing a telephone, computer, or other electronic device.

Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken words, communicating orally with others accurately and clearly.

Ability to drive an approved vehicle to transport youth center staff and members in a safe manner obeying all driving requirements and standards.

Position requires travel within the community and to participate in off-site Center events. May require travel outside of the geographic area of Center location.This job is performed in a youth center environment and out in the community. Time is also spent at facilities similar to youth recreational facility or community center. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and at times loud. Work sites are often located in low-income areas and challenging neighborhoods.
