Purchasing Associate Intern

Summary

Resilience, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the mental health of students, as well as reducing mass shootings, suicide, and depression. Resilience, Inc also works to combat declining test scores, low student engagement, and a slew of other social issues. 

Our organization focuses on offering Social Emotional Learning tools to enable K-12 schools to teach emotional intelligence through five core topics; self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, goal setting, and effective decision-making. Resilience, Inc. also provides tools for acquiring and maintaining inspiration, hope, and overall well-being.

Job Title: Purchasing Associate Intern

Location: Remote
Department: Research and Development (R&D)
Reports To: R&D Department Director
Type: Internship (Part-Time, Unpaid)
Duration: 4 Months

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential vendors and suppliers.
  • Contact vendors to request quotations, product information, and availability.
  • Coordinate purchase requests and orders with approved vendors.
  • Track vendor orders and payment status to ensure timely processing.
  • Maintain accurate records of vendor communications and purchase activities.
  • Provide regular feedback to management regarding vendor interactions and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support procurement needs.
  • Attend weekly team meetings and provide procurement updates.
  • Perform other purchasing and administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to research and evaluate vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn procurement and vendor management processes.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Able to attend weekly remote meetings.
