Sales & Partnerships Associate
What we’re building
Squoosh is building a faster way for ecommerce companies to understand and improve their digital experiences.
Today, brands often wait weeks for traditional A/B tests to produce useful results. Squoosh uses simulated customers and rapid experimentation to help teams evaluate website changes faster, identify promising improvements, and determine what should advance into live confirmation testing.
We work with ecommerce brands, agencies, consultants, technology partners, and large organizations that care deeply about customer experience and conversion.
We are looking for someone who can help turn that product into relationships, partnerships, and revenue.
The role
This is not a job where you are handed a list of leads and told to send the same message 500 times.
You will help figure out:
- Which companies we should be working with.
- Who inside those companies actually cares.
- What problem matters enough for them to take a meeting.
- How to earn their attention.
- How to turn an initial conversation into a real commercial relationship.
- Which agencies, consultants, platforms, and communities could become long-term partners.
You will work directly with the founders across prospecting, outreach, discovery, demos, proposals, partnerships, follow-up, and closing.
There will be coaching and support. There will not always be a script.
What you’ll do
On a normal week, you might:
- Build a target list of ecommerce brands, agencies, consultants, and strategic partners.
- Research companies and identify the right decision-makers.
- Write outreach that sounds like it was written by an intelligent human.
- Start conversations through email, LinkedIn, events, introductions, communities, and creative outbound.
- Run or support discovery calls and product demonstrations.
- Understand a prospect’s actual business problem instead of forcing them through a generic pitch.
- Develop account-specific ideas, proposals, and partnership concepts.
- Follow up consistently without becoming robotic or irritating.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline and make sure promising conversations do not disappear.
- Work with the product team to turn market feedback into better positioning and product decisions.
- Help develop relationships with ecommerce agencies, conversion consultants, platforms, and channel partners.
- Attend relevant events, dinners, conferences, and industry gatherings.
- Experiment with new sales motions and quickly determine what is working.
- Help close deals and expand successful customer relationships.
You will be expected to create opportunities, not merely process them.
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with unusual commercial instinct and social intelligence.
You may be a fit if you:
- Can enter a room where you know nobody and leave with three real relationships.
- Know how to get a response from people who ignore most outreach.
- Are confident without needing to dominate every conversation.
- Listen carefully and notice what someone actually cares about.
- Can make a complicated product feel simple and relevant.
- Prepare obsessively before important conversations.
- Follow up when everyone else forgets.
- Are comfortable asking directly for the meeting, the introduction, the pilot, or the deal.
- Handle rejection without becoming discouraged, defensive, or weird.
- Are competitive, but do not sacrifice trust to win a short-term point.
- Can move quickly without becoming sloppy.
- Want responsibility earlier than a normal company would give it to you.
You do not need a traditional sales background. You do need evidence that you can persuade people, build relationships, and make things happen.
Strong signals
Any of these will get our attention:
- You have sold something before, even if it was not through a formal sales job.
- You started a club, business, publication, event, nonprofit, side project, or campus organization.
- You recruited members, sponsors, speakers, customers, donors, or collaborators.
- You worked in hospitality, retail, recruiting, fundraising, consulting, real estate, fashion, media, or another relationship-heavy environment.
- You have convinced someone important to take a chance on you.
- You have built relationships with people outside your existing network.
- You can write an excellent cold email.
- You have a reputation for remembering details and following through.
- You are naturally curious about how businesses make money.
- You can tell us about a deal or relationship that almost failed and how you recovered it.
A strong candidate might come from business, fashion, design, media, hospitality, political organizing, athletics, student leadership, or something completely unrelated.
We care about your ability, not whether your résumé looks like a standard SaaS salesperson’s résumé.
What great looks like
Within your first few months, you should be able to:
- Develop a clear understanding of Squoosh, our customers, and the problems we solve.
- Independently identify strong prospects and explain why they are strong.
- Create outbound messages that consistently start real conversations.
- Run an effective first call without relying on a rigid script.
- Move opportunities forward with clear next steps.
- Build trusted relationships with customers and partners.
- Keep your pipeline organized and accurate.
- Bring back useful market intelligence—not just anecdotes.
- Contribute directly to new pilots, partnerships, and revenue.
We are not expecting you to arrive knowing everything. We are expecting you to learn unusually quickly.
This probably is not a fit if
- You believe sales is primarily about talking rather than listening.
- You send generic messages and blame the market when nobody responds.
- You are charismatic in meetings but unreliable afterward.
- You dislike research, preparation, CRM maintenance, or follow-up.
- You need a fully written script before speaking to a prospect.
- You are afraid to ask directly for a commitment.
- You overpromise in order to get a deal.
- You lose energy after hearing no.
- You care more about looking successful than becoming excellent.
- You want a narrow role with a large support organization around you.
Why join
- Work directly with the founders and influence how the company goes to market.
- Receive meaningful ownership over accounts, industries, and partnerships.
- Learn enterprise sales, startup sales, ecommerce, customer discovery, and commercial strategy.
- Help build the sales process rather than inheriting one from ten years ago.
- Sell a technically ambitious product with a real and expensive customer problem.
- Build relationships across ecommerce, technology, agencies, consulting, and consumer brands.
- Earn meaningful upside through performance-based compensation and equity.
- Grow quickly if you consistently create results.
This is a high-accountability role. It is also an opportunity to become much better, much faster than you would in a conventional entry-level sales job.
