Create Meaningful Musical Experiences for Young Learners

Do you love playing the ukulele and enjoy sharing the excitement of music with others?

We're looking for a Part-Time Ukulele Instructor to lead fun, interactive, and beginner-friendly music classes for students this fall. This is an opportunity to introduce students to the joy of making music while helping them build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Students will learn the fundamentals of ukulele through hands-on practice, including chords, strumming techniques, rhythm, musical expression, and popular songs. Beyond learning an instrument, students will develop important skills such as patience, focus, collaboration, and self-expression.

You don't need to be a professional musician or have formal teaching experience. If you have strong ukulele skills, enjoy working with students, and are excited to share your passion for music, we encourage you to apply.

What You'll Do

• Lead engaging ukulele classes in a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment
• Teach students the fundamentals of ukulele playing, including:
  • Proper instrument technique
  • Basic chords and chord transitions
  • Strumming patterns
  • Rhythm and timing
  • Music vocabulary and fundamentals
• Guide students through songs, practice activities, and group performances
• Help students build confidence as they learn and perform new skills
• Encourage creativity, musical exploration, and self-expression
• Create lessons that are engaging for students with different skill levels and learning styles
• Provide positive feedback and encouragement to support student growth
• Foster an inclusive classroom where every student feels comfortable participating
• Maintain a structured and organized learning environment
• Communicate professionally with school staff and program coordinators
• Arrive prepared and ready to deliver an inspiring music experience

Who We're Looking For

• Has experience playing the ukulele and understands basic music concepts
• Enjoys sharing music with children and young learners
• Can create a positive and encouraging classroom environment
• Has strong communication skills and a friendly, patient approach
• Can make music lessons fun, interactive, and approachable
• Is dependable, organized, and comfortable leading small groups
• Enjoys helping beginners learn and gain confidence

Previous teaching experience is not required. Experience in tutoring, mentoring, coaching, camps, youth programs, or group activities is helpful but not necessary.
