R&D Technician II

K3 Innovations is seeking a detail-oriented R&D Technician II to support a leading pharmaceutical organization's research and development operations. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in shipping coordination, biologics sample handling, and logistics within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

🔬 Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate domestic and international shipments of research materials to internal sites and external collaborators

• Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs paperwork

• Schedule, monitor, and track shipments using shipping systems such as FedEx, UPS, or DHL

• Partner with internal teams, freight forwarders, and carriers to ensure timely and compliant deliveries

• Maintain accurate shipment records, tracking information, and delivery confirmations

• Manage inventory of shipping supplies, including packaging materials, labels, and boxes

• Troubleshoot shipping issues and resolve delays while maintaining excellent customer service

• Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, customs requirements, and hazardous materials guidelines

• Assist in developing and improving shipping procedures, SOPs, and logistics processes

• Provide reports and updates on shipping metrics, performance, and operational improvements

 

✅ Required Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Life Sciences, Supply Chain, or a related discipline with 2–4+ years of experience in biologics sample processing, shipping coordination, or a related field

• Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations, customs documentation, and hazardous materials handling

• Proficiency with shipping software such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, or similar platforms

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a Shipping Coordinator or similar role in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry preferred

• Experience shipping laboratory, biological, hazardous, or temperature-sensitive materials is a plus

• Pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience is preferred but not required

 

💪 Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk continuously while packaging and preparing shipments for extended periods

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
