Nativity of Our Lord School is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Language Arts teacher for grades 6–8. We are looking for an educator who believes in engaging students through high-quality instruction, meaningful relationships, and a love of literature and writing.

Responsibilities

● Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction for students in grades 6–8.

● Foster strong reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills.

● Create a positive, structured classroom environment that supports student success.

● Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

● Assess student progress and communicate effectively with families.

● Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and student achievement.

● Support the mission and Catholic identity of the school.

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field preferred.

● New York State teaching certification (or ability to obtain certification).

● Strong classroom management and instructional skills.

● Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

● Commitment to collaboration, professionalism, and continuous growth.

● Practicing Catholic preferred but not required.

Salary

Starting salary: $32,000, commensurate with education and experience.
