Role Description The Employment Consultant is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Greater Milwaukee area, with a mix of on-site community work and some work-from-home flexibility. This role supports individuals seeking employment by providing job coaching, career guidance, and assistance with navigating employer expectations. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with clients to assess strengths and employment goals, developing individualized job search plans, and connecting clients with suitable job opportunities. The Employment Consultant will accompany clients to interviews, job fairs, and employer meetings as needed, and offer ongoing support to help them retain and grow in their roles. The position also includes maintaining accurate case management records, collaborating with community partners and employers, and communicating regularly with stakeholders to monitor progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in Job Coaching and Job Search Strategies to support individuals in preparing for, finding, and succeeding in employment.
  • Experience with Career Counseling to help clients identify strengths, interests, and realistic career paths.
  • Proficiency in Case Management, including documentation, follow-up, and coordination of services with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to provide Accompaniment for clients during interviews, workplace visits, and community-based activities as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of local labor market, employer expectations, and community resources in the Greater Milwaukee area.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, rehabilitation, human services, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid environment, managing time effectively between community-based work and remote administrative tasks.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation for local travel, and willingness to travel within the Greater Milwaukee area.
