Are you passionate about American Sign Language and enjoy creating engaging learning experiences for young people?

We're seeking a Part-Time American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor to lead after-school enrichment classes where students can develop practical communication skills while learning about Deaf culture and the importance of accessibility and inclusion.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are comfortable using ASL and enjoy teaching, mentoring, or working with children. Whether you've taught in a classroom, volunteered with youth, or are looking to share your ASL knowledge in a fun educational setting, we'd love to hear from you.

Our team provides curriculum resources and ongoing support, giving you the flexibility to focus on delivering engaging, interactive lessons.

What You'll Do

• Facilitate fun and interactive ASL classes for students
• Teach foundational signs, fingerspelling, greetings, everyday vocabulary, and simple conversations
• Encourage students to communicate through hands-on activities, partner practice, games, and visual learning
• Introduce students to Deaf culture and the value of inclusive communication
• Foster a classroom environment where every student feels welcomed, respected, and encouraged to participate
• Adjust instruction based on students' learning styles and experience levels
• Promote collaboration, creativity, and confidence throughout each lesson
• Keep students engaged while maintaining a positive and organized classroom
• Communicate effectively with school staff and program coordinators
• Arrive prepared and ready to create an enjoyable learning experience

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

• Has working proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Enjoys teaching, mentoring, or working with children
• Communicates clearly and builds positive relationships with students
• Creates a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Is dependable, organized, and enthusiastic
• Is comfortable leading small groups and encouraging participation
• Is willing to learn and collaborate with our team

Previous experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, volunteering, or leading youth activities is helpful, but not required.
