Position Summary

Sunflower Child Development Center is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Infant/Toddler Teacher to join our team. We provide a warm, family-centered learning environment where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and build confidence through play and meaningful interactions.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, values teamwork, communicates well with families, and creates a safe and engaging classroom.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

• California Infant/Toddler Teacher qualification or permit, or ability to meet California Community Care Licensing requirements.
• Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units, including Infant/Toddler coursework, as required by California regulations.
• Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain before employment.
• Clear Live Scan fingerprint clearance.
• Current TB clearance.
• Proof of required immunizations.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to sit, kneel, bend, and actively participate in children’s activities throughout the day.

Preferred

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
• Two or more years of infant or toddler classroom experience.
• Russian and English bilingual skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive and nurturing care for infants and toddlers.
• Create a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom.
• Implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities.
• Support children’s social, emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development.
• Maintain positive interactions using respectful guidance techniques.
• Observe and document children’s development.
• Communicate daily with parents regarding each child’s activities and progress.
• Maintain licensing ratios and supervise children at all times.
• Follow all Community Care Licensing regulations.
• Assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, and nap routines.
• Prepare and maintain classroom materials.
• Keep classroom records accurate and current.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and administration.
• Help maintain a positive and supportive school culture.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Full-time
• 8-hour shift
