Grand Center - Circus Flora Inc. - Fundraising & Marketing Associate
Description:
Circus Flora is a St. Louis 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has produced critically acclaimed, original one-ring circus productions under its Big Top in Grand Center for 40 seasons. Alongside the annual June production, Circus Flora runs year-round community programs, including Share the Circus, which provides thousands of free tickets to underserved children and families through partnerships with more than 30 local health, education, and social-service organizations, and Clowns on Call, which brings laughter and connection to hospitalized children.
The Fundraising & Marketing Associate works directly with the Artistic and Executive Director, with an emphasis on marketing and communications — designing graphics and promotional materials, drafting and building email campaigns, and telling Circus Flora's story across the St. Louis region — alongside hands-on fundraising support, including a key role in planning and executing Circus Flora's annual fundraiser on October 7, 2026. The role is a mentored introduction to nonprofit arts administration, approximately 10 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, with a flexible schedule around classes and primarily remote work (occasional in-person days for events).
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design graphics and promotional materials — social media assets, e-newsletter layouts, and event collateral
• Draft, build, and schedule email campaigns and e-newsletters in Mailchimp, and help keep website and social media content current
• Help plan and execute the annual fundraiser event on October 7, 2026 — invitations and promotion, guest lists and RSVPs, event materials, and day-of support
• Donor stewardship: help prepare donation acknowledgment letters, maintain donor records, and track gifts
• Assist with fundraising appeals and Flora Society membership campaigns, and research prospective sponsors, funders, and community partners
• Help track and report on ticket sales, audience surveys, and campaign performance
• Support the Share the Circus ticket donation program and provide general administrative support as needed
