The Mass General Brigham Department of Emergency Medicine's division of clinical research is seeking a highly motivated individual with a minimum of one year hands-on clinical research experience to assist with ongoing and future clinical research studies as Clinical Research Coordinator II.  This position will primarily be based at Massachusetts General Hospital. Through participation in a variety of federally funded and industry sponsored clinical research studies and trials, our division aims to find new and effective treatments for injuries and illnesses such as trauma, infections, sepsis, stroke, behavioral health intervention, suicide prevention, device studies and others. The incumbent will work with a dynamic team of investigators and research staff to coordinate multiple studies performed in the emergency department at MGH.

Some overnight shifts may be required based on study protocols to conduct participant monitoring and/or follow-up sample collection. Weekend coverage will be needed about once a month.

Summary
Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, EEGs, etc.; maintaining and updating data generated by the study.

Essential Functions
-Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verify all sponsor requirements are met.
-Recruiting patients for clinical trials, conducts phone interviews.
-Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol.
-Prepares data for analysis and data entry.
-Documents patient visits and procedures.
-Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures.
-Assists with interviewing study subjects.
-Assists with study regulatory submissions.
-Collect, process, and store samples as required.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree required

Experience
At least one year of CRC experience that includes in-person participant recruitments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Careful attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Working knowledge of clinical research protocols.
- Ability to demonstrate respect and professionalism for subjects' rights and individual needs.

Additional Experience

• EMT/Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred. Incumbent will need to pass Qualified Bilingual Staff examination upon starting the position.
• Medical Scribe experience using Epic preferred.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree. Those with a medical degree may be considered.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred but not required (proved by completing a Qualified Bilingual Staff test during onboarding).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with REDCap, IRB submission, or current EMT certification is a plus.
