Location: Somerset Academy Avenir, Palm Beach Gardens, FL

Position Type: Part-Time - approximately 3 days (24 hours) per week (8/3/26-5/31/27)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a certified, passionate, and dedicated part-time ESE teacher to join our growing instructional team. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, flexible, collaborative, and deeply committed to student achievement and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons in all core subject areas in a pull-out, small group or support facilitation ESE setting (ELA, math, science, and social studies).

Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including English Language Learners and students with exceptionalities.

Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment that promotes resiliency.

Utilize data to inform instruction, assess student progress, and adjust teaching strategies to improve learning outcomes.

Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support each child’s academic and social-emotional growth.

Collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, and community partners to support student growth goals.

Participate in the creation and implementation of individualized student plans and progress monitoring.

Collaborate with the ESE, SBT, 504, and ESOL Coordinators to ensure school compliance with state and county requirements.

Communicate with families regularly related to student progress and success.

Participate in ongoing professional development, school-wide initiatives, and team planning.

Support the broader school community by offering and participating in extracurricular programs, school-wide events, and performances that enrich student life and promote school spirit.

Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Somerset Academy Avenir.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in ESE and Elementary Education, or related field (required).

Valid Florida teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification (required).

Prior classroom teaching experience preferred, but not required for exceptional new graduates.

Strong classroom management skills and a student-centered teaching philosophy.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
