Part-Time K–12 Tutor — Flexible Schedule
Beyond the Classroom Tutoring is seeking dependable, engaging, and academically strong tutors to join our growing team for Fall 2026.
Founded in 2015, Beyond the Classroom Tutoring has supported more than 1,000 families throughout the greater Orlando area. We provide individualized, one-on-one instruction designed to help students strengthen academic skills, improve confidence, develop better study habits, and reach their educational goals.
Tutors are matched with students based on subject expertise, grade-level experience, availability, location, and personality. We handle student acquisition, family matching, billing, scheduling support, and administrative logistics so our tutors can focus on teaching.
Subjects We Are Hiring For
We are currently seeking tutors who are confident teaching one or more of the following:
- Elementary and middle-school mathematics
- Pre-algebra, Algebra I and II, geometry, pre-calculus, statistics, and calculus
- Reading, vocabulary, grammar, and writing
- Biology, physical science, anatomy, chemistry, earth science, and space science
- Civics, world history, U.S. history, government, politics, and economics
- Spanish
- SAT, ACT, and GED preparation
- College and career readiness
- Essay writing, cover letters, and résumé development
- Homework support, study skills, organization, and executive functioning
Tutor Responsibilities
- Provide individualized, one-on-one tutoring based on each student’s needs and goals
- Prepare engaging lessons and practice materials when needed
- Explain concepts clearly and adapt instruction to the student’s learning style
- Help students develop confidence, independence, and effective academic habits
- Communicate professionally with students, families, and the Beyond the Classroom team
- Arrive on time and remain consistent with scheduled tutoring sessions
- Provide brief updates regarding student progress, challenges, and recommended next steps
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Current college student, graduate student, educator, or professional with strong subject-area knowledge
- Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, coaching, childcare, or youth-development experience preferred
- Strong academic record in the subjects you wish to tutor
- Ability to explain material patiently and in multiple ways
- Reliable, organized, responsive, and professional
- Comfortable building relationships with students and families
- Reliable transportation for in-person tutoring assignments, when applicable
- Willingness to complete a background check
- Strong standardized-test performance is preferred for SAT and ACT tutoring positions
Applicants from all majors are encouraged to apply. Education, mathematics, English, science, psychology, pre-health, engineering, and related majors may be especially well suited for this opportunity.

Schedule and Location
Tutoring is scheduled according to tutor and family availability. Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability is especially valuable.
Positions may include in-person tutoring throughout the greater Orlando area, virtual tutoring, or a combination of both, depending on the tutor’s location and subject expertise.
Compensation
$17.50-22.00 per hour, based on experience, subject level, and type of tutoring provided.
Tutors are paid twice per month.
