Position Overview

Birch Agency is actively seeking 7 dedicated Special Education Teachers to join school-based teams in the Moncks Corner, South Carolina area for the upcoming school year.

These full-time opportunities are available in elementary and high school settings and primarily support students with Cross Categorical and Mild Learning Disabilities (MLD). Current Openings

Cross Categorical Special Education Teachers

• 6 Elementary School Openings (K–5)




• 1 High School Opening (9–12)

Mild Learning Disabilities (MLD) Special Education Teachers

• 2 Elementary School Openings (K–5)

Assignments will be based on district needs and candidate experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on students' unique learning needs.




• Provide specialized instruction using evidence-based teaching strategies.




• Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments to support diverse learners.




• Deliver individualized, small-group, and classroom-based instruction as appropriate.




• Implement positive behavior interventions and classroom management strategies.




• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.




• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.




• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development activities.




• Foster a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes academic achievement, independence, and social-emotional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field preferred.




• Active South Carolina Special Education certification required or eligibility to obtain certification.




• Cross Categorical and/or Mild Learning Disabilities certification preferred.




• Experience supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred.




• Knowledge of IEP development, special education compliance, differentiated instruction, and behavior management practices.




• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
