Position Overview

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join a school-based team in Clover, NC for the 2026–2027 school year.

This full-time opportunity is for a self-contained multi-categorical classroom serving elementary or middle school students, depending on district needs. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing individualized instruction, implementing IEPs, and creating a structured, supportive learning environment where students with diverse learning and developmental needs can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with each student's educational goals.




• Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained multi-categorical classroom.




• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based teaching practices.




• Differentiate curriculum, accommodations, and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.




• Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and effective classroom management techniques.




• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance records.




• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, therapists, school psychologists, and families.




• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development activities.




• Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student growth and independence.




• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field preferred.




• Active Special Education teaching certification required (or eligibility to obtain).




• Experience working in a self-contained special education classroom preferred.




• Experience supporting students with a variety of disabilities and learning needs preferred.




• Strong classroom management, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.




• Passion for helping students reach their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals.
