Civil Engineering Intern
Looking for more than a typical engineering internship?
Delta Limit Engineering PLLC is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering student to join our team part-time while continuing their studies. This position offers hands-on experience working directly alongside licensed Professional Engineers on active projects throughout New York City.
As a boutique geostructural engineering consulting firm, we believe interns learn best by being involved—not sitting on the sidelines. You'll gain exposure to real engineering projects, construction sites, client interactions, and the day-to-day operations of a growing consulting practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist with CAD drafting and engineering drawings (experience dependent)
- Participate in field visits, site observations, and inspections
- Support geostructural and foundation engineering projects
- Update project files, reports, and engineering documentation
- Organize project servers and digital records
- Assist with office systems, workflows, and operational improvements
- Provide general project support to our engineering team
What You'll Learn
- Geostructural engineering and temporary support of excavation (SOE)
- Foundation and deep foundation engineering
- New York City construction and special inspection practices
- How engineering projects move from concept through construction
- The business, operations, and project management behind a successful engineering consulting firm
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn
- AutoCAD experience is a plus but not required
- Interest in construction, geotechnical engineering, and structural engineering
Ideal Candidate
This opportunity is ideal for students attending universities in the New York City metropolitan area who are looking to gain meaningful, real-world engineering experience while completing their degree.
You'll work directly with the firm's Principal Professional Engineers, receive one-on-one mentorship, and be encouraged to ask questions, develop technical skills, and gain insight into how a consulting engineering firm operates from both a technical and business perspective.
If you're looking for an internship that provides real responsibility, mentorship, and exposure to the engineering profession beyond the classroom, we'd love to hear from you.
