Editorial Internship - Fall 2026 (start dates in August & September)
Location: Remote (must be located within the continental U.S.)
Duration: Temporary (Internship) - 4 months
Compensation: $375 monthly learning stipend (total of $1500) via PayPal or electronic bank transfer (EFT)

YourTango is looking for a curious, driven, and ambitious editorial intern to join our hardworking editorial team. You'll get real experience pitching ideas, writing and editing articles, updating existing content, building articles in our publishing system, and preparing work for publication. Along the way, you'll create published clips and build a strong professional portfolio.
This internship is a great fit for talented writers, sharp editors, aspiring journalists, and anyone interested in digital publishing who wants real-world experience in a supportive, fully remote environment.
Responsibilities:
- Pitch article ideas in designated editorial Slack channels
- Write 8-10 articles per week
- Build, format, and publish articles in YourTango's CMS (training provided)
- Update and improve existing evergreen content
- Find and edit images, graphics, and other media for articles
- Learn and apply SEO best practices (training provided)
- Help editors with special projects, partner content, and other editorial tasks as needed
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong writing and editing skills, with a clear and engaging voice
- Excited to grow as a writer and editor
- Willing to complete editorial work without AI writing tools unless an editor gives specific permission
- Able to keep up with daily and weekly deadlines
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable communicating through Slack and email
- Open to feedback and able to work well with a team
- Genuinely interested in digital publishing, online media, and creating content people want to read
Requirements:
- Have access to a reliable computer and internet connection
- Be available to work a consistent 20-hour weekly schedule during weekday business hours
- Be able to communicate in real time during scheduled shifts through Slack, email, and video or phone calls
What You'll Learn & Gain:
- Hands-on experience with digital publishing, SEO, content management systems, editing, article production, and audience-focused writing

Supervision & Feedback:
- Receive regular feedback and guidance through weekly and monthly check-ins with a supervisor and other relevant team members
- Learn from experienced professionals with educational backgrounds and expertise in their fields
- Complete structured pre-internship, midpoint, and final evaluations to track progress, identify areas for growth, and reflect on skill development
- Work closely with editors to develop, pitch, and publish articles that can be included in a professional portfolio
- Collaborate with team members across departments and build professional relationships throughout the internship
Eligibility & Compensation:
- Must live in the continental United States throughout the internship
- Receive a $375 monthly learning stipend to support the educational experience. The stipend is not an hourly wage or salary and is not based on the number of hours worked
- Submit a brief invoice after each completed month confirming participation. Once approved, payment is issued through PayPal or electronic funds transfer (EFT)
- Participate in a learning-focused internship structured in accordance with applicable Fair Labor Standards Act guidelines and U.S. Department of Labor standards
- May be eligible to receive college credit, depending on their school's requirements
