Jerry was an all-star high school athlete on his way to college with a full-ride scholarship. Many believed he had a future in the major leagues. But more than anything, Jerry was known for his kindness and generosity.

After a tragic accident took his life, Jerry’s long-time wish to be an organ and tissue donor became incredibly important. His best friend had received a life-saving kidney transplant years earlier, and Jerry always knew he wanted to help others the same way.

Fulfilling that wish requires someone compassionate enough to make a difficult but meaningful call to his family—and skilled enough to help turn that generosity into the gift of sight for someone else.

As a Processing Support Technician, you could be the person who helps ensure every donated gift is prepared safely, accurately, and ready to restore sight.

Position Overview

The Processing Support Technician (PST) supports ocular tissue processing and laboratory operations by ensuring donor tissue, equipment, and documentation are prepared with precision and care. This role combines laboratory support, tissue transportation, inventory management, and quality-focused work in a fast-paced environment, helping make the gift of sight possible for transplant recipients.

Key Responsibilities

• Support ocular tissue processing by following aseptic techniques and RMLEB Standard Operating Procedures 
• Complete donor documentation, data entry, and processing records with accuracy 
• Perform Specular Microscopy, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and other laboratory support functions after training 
• Maintain laboratory readiness through instrument sterilization, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and clean room support 
• Transport tissue to surgery centers and perform courier responsibilities, including airport pickups when needed 
• Maintain proficiency through ongoing training, competency assessments, and policy updates

The starting salary range for this position is $44,000 to $49,000 annually.
