AmeriCorps VISTA – Program Sustainability & Community Access Coordinator

Location: Menomonee Falls, WI

Are you passionate about public health, nonprofit leadership, healthcare administration, or community engagement? Looking for a meaningful gap year, service opportunity, or hands-on experience before graduate or professional school?

Join the AmeriCorps VISTA program at Community Outreach Health Clinic and help build sustainable systems that improve access to healthcare for uninsured and underinsured individuals throughout southeastern Wisconsin.

As a VISTA member, you'll work alongside clinic leadership to develop long-term solutions that strengthen clinic operations, expand volunteer engagement, and support community health initiatives. Your work will leave a lasting impact long after your year of service ends.

What You'll Do

Strengthen Clinic Operations

  • Evaluate and improve clinic workflows and organizational processes.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and operational resources that increase efficiency.
  • Create tracking systems, templates, and resource guides that improve long-term sustainability.
  • Collaborate with clinic leadership on projects that expand organizational capacity.

Build Volunteer Programs

  • Design volunteer recruitment strategies and outreach materials.
  • Develop onboarding, training, and orientation resources.
  • Create systems that improve volunteer engagement and retention.
  • Help organize volunteer appreciation and recognition initiatives.

Expand Community Health Programs

  • Support the development of sustainable behavioral health and wellness education programs.
  • Create outreach materials and promotional strategies for community education.
  • Develop facilitator guides, evaluation tools, and program resources.
  • Build systems that allow programs to continue beyond your service year.
