We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our daily remote operations, coordinate workflows across dispatch and logistics, and help us continuously improve service efficiency.

Role Overview

As our Operations Manager, you will be the core operational driver of Rick Jackson Transport. Working directly with drivers, dispatchers, third-party logistics partners, and leadership, you will keep our transport pipelines moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics & Workflow Optimization: Map and streamline daily dispatch, load scheduling, and tracking processes to maximize efficiency and fleet output.

Systems & Tools Oversight: Administer and optimize our remote operations tools (e.g., TMS/dispatch software, Slack, Notion/Asana, Google Workspace) to maintain flawless team execution.

Driver & Dispatch Support: Partner closely with dispatch staff and drivers to resolve operational bottlenecks, scheduling conflicts, and customer service issues in real time.

Performance Tracking & KPIs: Monitor key transport metrics (on-time delivery rates, driver efficiency, cost-per-mile) and build reports to drive operational decisions.

Vendor & Compliance Coordination: Assist leadership with carrier agreements, vendor coordination, and maintaining operational safety and compliance standards.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Create and update clear, accessible documentation for company workflows to support smooth onboarding and continuous growth.

What We’re Looking For

Experience: 3–5+ years in Operations, Fleet Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management (experience in a remote or semi-remote environment is a strong plus).

Transportation & Logistics Knowledge: Strong background in dispatch workflows, carrier management, and freight tracking platforms.

Communication Skills: Clear, proactive written and verbal communication—critical for managing distributed drivers, team members, and clients.

Systems Mastery: Proficient with logistics technology platforms (TMS), modern communication tools (Slack, Zoom), and project management software.

Problem-Solver Mindset: Strong crisis-resolution skills with the ability to manage unexpected transport delays or operational hiccups independently.
