WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As a Nurse (Consultant), you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

  • Serving as a clinical consultant and subject matter expert in the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex healthcare and public health programs.
  • Providing clinical expertise and recommendations on healthcare policies, legislative proposals, quality measurement initiatives, and nursing practice standards.
  • Leading special studies, program evaluations, and healthcare assessments to measure the effectiveness and quality of clinical services and healthcare delivery systems.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals, government officials, and stakeholders to develop solutions, improve health programs, and support organizational goals.

 

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Basic Qualifications:
Education Requirement:

A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education(external link), Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs(external link), Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education(external link), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained.

Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (external link) is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.

AND

Licensure Requirement: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination(external link). In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.


In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
 

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating standard operating procedures (SOPs), program plans, and workflows to improve efficiency, consistency, and service delivery outcomes;
  • Monitoring and analyzing program performance data, including productivity, turnaround times, and quality assurance metrics, and preparing reports and dashboards to inform leadership decision-making;
  • Identifying and resolving complex operational, administrative, and customer service issues, including responding to agency complaints, resolving vendor issues, and implementing corrective actions; and
  • Overseeing billing, financial reconciliation, and resource management activities, ensuring alignment between services provided, funding, and interagency agreements (IAAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs).
