Chocolatier Intern

Job Title: Chocolatier Intern

Compensation: $14/hour

Hours per Week: Up to 30 hours (part-time)

Anticipated Start Date: September 2026

Duration: Fall semester internship (September–December 2026), with potential to extend longer term based on fit and mutual interest

Job Description:

Join the kitchen team at Chocolaterie Colibri, a French artisan chocolate boutique, for hands-on training in the craft of fine chocolate-making, starting September 2026. This is a fall-semester internship with the opportunity to continue longer term for the right fit. You'll work directly alongside our head chocolatiers, learning the science and technique behind bonbons, pralines, and more, while also getting real experience running a boutique storefront.

Key Responsibilities:

Chocolate Production & Assembly

  • Bonbons, pralines, gelato, macarons, and cupcakes

Finishing & Packaging

  • Package chocolates, gelato, and special orders for pickup and shipment

Sanitation & Safety

  • Maintain a clean workspace in line with ServSafe standards

Boutique Storefront

  • Greet and assist customers, process sales and cash transactions, and keep the storefront clean and organized

Schedule:
4 days/week, 7-hour shifts — typically 2 weekdays on production, 2 weekend days on boutique/storefront coverage. Exact days flexible around the intern's class schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, or Food Service program
  • Some foodservice experience, ideally in chocolate, baking, or pastry
  • Detail-oriented, clear communicator, creative, organized
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
