Zine Library Intern- Zine Club Lead position

The Reed Zine Library is hiring student interns to organize, curate and help run the zine library and zine-related programming. The position will start with a mandatory all-day training on Friday, August 21st, 2026. 

The zine library interns will be responsible for the formation of marketing, zine organization and access, as well as leading student-run zine activities, such as a zine club and helping with the Reed Zine Fest in the Spring. Interns will learn about different departments in the library and how they work together (Special Collections and Archives, Research Services, Collections, etc) to assist them in the development of zine displays and event programming.

 

Duties & Responsibilities 

There are three focus areas of this internship.  The Zine Librarian will be hire one person per Lead position. Under the supervision of Library Staff, the intern’s responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:

  • Zine Club Lead- Becoming the signatory for the student-run zine club: in charge of organizing monthly meetings, attending financial committee meetings to advocate for funding, organizing events and publishing zines for zine club. This work is the most social, and for those who love people.
  • Design Lead- Create interesting and creative marketing materials around campus and for our social media Instagram account (@reedzinelibrary). This work is the most creative, and wants to help design the look and feel of the Zine Library social media and signage. 
  • Zine Library Lead- Assist zine librarian in the selection, purchase, cataloging and display of new zines in the collection. This work is the most detail oriented, and good for someone who likes the organization of information. 

Currently only the Zine Club Lead position is open. Please only apply if you are interested in organizing the Zine Club and other zine-related events and outreach. 

All zine interns will be responsible for working the Reed Zine Fest in the Spring, helping with zine and art related events, and other tasks as assigned.
