Business Development Associate

We are seeking an energetic and organized Business Development Manager to help grow our marketing company’s pipeline and build meaningful relationships with prospective clients. This is a junior, growth-focused role for someone who enjoys creating content, staying close to market trends, and turning consistent outreach into new business opportunities.

A key part of this position is regularly creating and sharing content—from short social posts and campaign ideas to market observations and behind-the-scenes office updates—to attract prospective leads, build awareness, and support our sales efforts.

This role is ideal for someone with 2–3 years of relevant experience, or a recent college graduate with strong communication skills, initiative, and an interest in marketing and business development.

Responsibilities

– Support new-business growth by identifying, researching, and engaging prospective clients.

– Create consistent, engaging content from the office for social media, email outreach, and other lead-generation channels.

– Help develop content ideas that showcase our team, services, industry perspective, client work, and company culture.

– Maintain an organized pipeline of prospective leads and track outreach activity, follow-ups, and opportunities.

– Assist with outbound outreach through email, LinkedIn, phone, networking, and other approved channels.

– Qualify early-stage opportunities and schedule meetings for senior team members as appropriate.

– Participate in brainstorming, client research, pitch preparation, and proposal development.

– Monitor industry news, competitor activity, and relevant marketing trends to identify potential opportunities.

– Represent the company professionally at meetings, events, and networking opportunities.

Requirements

– Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, public relations, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

– 0–3 years of experience in business development, sales, marketing, communications, client services, or a related role.

– Strong written and verbal communication skills.

– Comfortable creating social media, email, and other short-form marketing content.

– Highly organized, proactive, and dependable, with strong follow-through.

– Comfortable speaking with new people and initiating professional conversations.

– Interest in marketing, brand strategy, advertising, and helping businesses grow.

– Familiarity with LinkedIn, social media platforms, CRM tools, or email marketing platforms.

– Ability to work collaboratively in an office-based, fast-moving environment.

Expectations for Success

– Produce regular, high-quality office-based content that supports brand visibility and lead generation.

– Build and maintain a consistent cadence of prospecting and follow-up activity.

– Keep lead records, outreach activity, and next steps accurate and up to date.

– Bring fresh ideas for content, outreach campaigns, and potential business opportunities.

– Develop a working understanding of our services, ideal clients, and market positioning.

– Meet agreed-upon activity goals, such as content output, prospect outreach, qualified leads, and meetings scheduled.

– Represent the company with professionalism, curiosity, and a positive, solutions-oriented attitude.

– Grow into increasing responsibility for lead generation, relationship development, and new-business initiatives over time.

Compensation is based on experience and includes salary, health benefits, disability and matching retirement plan. This is a hybrid full time position but could be arranged as a parttime position.
