Spring Community Partnerships & Programs Intern
Internship Period: 3-4 months
Hours per Week: 20-25 hours per week and/or a minimum of 320 hours
Compensation: $1,500 Stipend
INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION
Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central Florida (RMHCCF) provides essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare. Our cornerstone program, the Ronald McDonald House® (RMH), brings closeness, comfort, and care to 1,900 families a year. There are three Ronald McDonald House locations in Central Florida; one located on the campus of AdventHealth for Children, one on the campus of Orlando Health, and our third location located on the campus of Nemours Children’s Health.
The Community Partnerships and Programs Intern will engage in a number of projects over the course of 12-16 weeks that will introduce them to the daily nature of nonprofit organizations. They will focus primarily on community and hospital partnerships, volunteer recruitment and retention programs, leading tours, hosting serve days, database management, and community-based inquiries. With this internship, you will have walked away with a better understanding of nonprofit organizations.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
To develop a broad understanding and appreciation of the nonprofit sector and the roles and responsibilities of nonprofit professionals.
To build experience in a professional work environment while gaining experience working independently and in teams.
To strengthen or build skill sets by utilizing them in a variety of working conditions such as public speaking, managing projects and deadlines, time management and attention to detail.
If student is seeking this internship for academic credit, additional learning outcomes and requirements will be discussed with student to meet the needs of the course.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be enrolled in an institution of higher education in a degree seeking program.
Must be available to work within the required time period during the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m including some night and weekends and must have reliable transportation.
Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. and sit or stand for extended periods of time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Partnerships and Programs Team by engaging with hospital, corporate, and civic community partners
Assist with hosting volunteers, serve days, and Keeping Families Close Tours
Provide an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality by interacting with House guests and volunteers, providing information, answering questions and by being an understanding listener
Assist with preparations for upcoming events including RMHCCF signature events, third-party events, volunteer socials, and recognition programs
Represent the charity at RMHCCF Ambassador opportunities in the community
Answer and direct incoming emails and telephone calls.
Assist with volunteer and donor database management
Assist charity staff with other responsibilities as assigned

COMPLETION OF PROGRAM
