Electrical Engineer - Level 1

About the Role

SETTY is looking for an Electrical Engineer Level 1 to support sustainable, high-performance building design. This is an entry-level opportunity for recent graduates or early-career engineers who want to work on real electrical systems that power, protect, and improve buildings.

In this role, you will work with experienced engineers, use Revit and AutoCAD, assist with electrical calculations and drawings, visit project sites, and learn how power, lighting, controls, emergency systems, and low-voltage systems are coordinated from design through construction.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in designing power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm, emergency power, grounding, low-voltage, and renewable-ready systems.
  • Support drawing production, engineering calculations, schedules, and BIM coordination using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, structural, and fire protection teams.
  • Help review submittals, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration tasks.
  • Participate in field surveys and site visits to understand how electrical systems are installed and tested.
  • Learn applicable electrical codes, sustainability strategies, and professional engineering practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of internship, academic, or professional experience.
  • Interest in sustainable building systems, energy efficiency, electrification, safety, and resilient infrastructure.
  • Exposure to Revit, AutoCAD, NEC, NFPA, LEED, lighting software, or BIM coordination is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, curiosity, teamwork, and willingness to learn from mentors and field experience.
  • Ability to travel for site visits and pass a security clearance if required by the project.

Why SETTY

At SETTY, you will help engineer building systems that reduce energy waste, improve safety, and support healthier communities. You will join a collaborative team that values mentorship, technical training, nonprofit support, professional growth, and a flexible hybrid work environment.

How to Apply

Apply through Handshake and include your resume. In your application or cover note, please mention your preferred location, your ability to pass a security clearance if required, your interest in travel/site visits, and what climate-focused engineering means to you.
