SAT Coach (Remote) — Help Students Break 1400
Tigerway is an online 1:1 SAT coaching program, founded in 2013 in
Boston. We specialize in one thing: taking students from the 1000-1200 range on the SAT range into the 1400–1500+ category. Our students include admits to Harvard, Princeton, UPenn, and Carnegie Mellon.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are not looking for the highest scorer. We are looking for the best
teacher of a struggling student.
Our ideal coach IMPROVED their own score significantly through
deliberate work — for example, from the low 1300s to 1500+. If you
climbed, you have a method you can teach. If the test came easily to
you, you may struggle to explain it to a student who is stuck, and this
role will frustrate you.
Requirements:
- SAT 1400+ (or ACT 33+)
- Currently enrolled at, or graduated from, a competitive university
- Available 2-4 hours per week, consistently, including some evenings
- Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet space for video sessions
- Genuine patience for students who are capable but discouraged
THE STUDENT YOU'LL WORK WITH
Most of our students are smart kids whose grades don't reflect what
they can do. They've often been told they don't apply themselves. Your
job is not only to teach content — it's to be the first person who
shows them, with evidence, what they're actually capable of.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
- Full training in the Tigerway methodology (diagnostic forecasting,
question-archetype analysis, and our coaching framework)
- Structured curriculum and assignment library — you don't build lessons
from scratch
- A progress-tracking system so you always know what to work on next
- Direct mentorship from our founder
Compensation
$20-22/hour depending on experience. Paid per session. Students are
assigned in 24-hour packages, so a single student is roughly 24 paid
hours over six months.

1. Send your SAT/ACT scores, including your FIRST score and your BEST
score. We want to see the climb.
2. Answer in 3–4 sentences: "A student keeps missing inference
questions on the Reading section. They understand the passage when
you discuss it, but choose the wrong answer under time pressure.
What is your first move?"
3. Record a 4-minute video (phone is fine — no editing needed):
- 60 seconds: who you are and why you want to teach
- 3 minutes: teach us one SAT question of your choosing, as if
explaining it to a stuck 16-year-old who is frustrated
4. Your Resume so that we know your academic and prior work experience
