Electrics / Lighting Assistant - Work Study Opportunity
WORK STUDY: DEPARTMENT OF THEATRE AND DANCE
ELECTRICS / LIGHTING
Students with an interest in theatrical, live performance eligible.
While it is helpful to be knowledgeable in this area, WCU is a learning environment, so any interested party is welcome. Theatre Majors and most Theatre Minors are expected to have these skillsets prior to graduation, so this is a great way to fuse your educational path with hands on skill development while being paid. Self-motivated individuals, with a passion for problem solving highly encouraged to apply.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Managing Lighting Needs for Department of Theatre and Dance Production Needs (In collaboration with the faculty electrics coordinator)
- Work with THA 200 students to hang/focus productions
- Work with THA 200 students to restore/maintain rep plots
- Support class based needs as requested/assigned (ie: lighting for make-up class, vocal workshops,…)
- Teach basic console use to in-house user groups as assigned
- Maintain accurate inventory lists
- Maintain organized equipment storage
- Identify needs for routine and/or preventative maintenance on equipment
- Additional job-related duties as assigned by the direct supervisor
