Project Assistant
Location: Cedar Knolls, NJ (In Person)
Schedule: Part-Time (15–25 hours/week) with flexible hours around school. Opportunity to grow into a full-time position.

Positive Electric is a well-established electrical contractor serving commercial, industrial, solar, and public-sector clients throughout New Jersey.
We're looking for an organized, dependable Project Assistant to support our project management team. This is an excellent opportunity for a college student, vocational or technical school student, recent graduate, or anyone interested in learning how construction projects are managed from start to finish.
No prior construction experience is required. We'll teach you the industry. We're looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and enjoys keeping things on track.
What You'll Do
Working alongside experienced project managers, you will:
- Organize and maintain project files and documentation.
- Prepare and update spreadsheets, reports, and project logs.
- Help collect paperwork from vendors and subcontractors.
- Scan, file, and organize construction drawings and project documents.
- Assist with preparing proposals, bid documents, and project paperwork.
- Track outstanding items and help ensure project documentation stays organized.
- Communicate with vendors, customers, and team members by phone and email.
- Support project managers with administrative tasks throughout the life of a project.
- Assist with other office and project coordination tasks as needed.

- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized.

Education & Experience
Ideal for students or recent graduates pursuing degrees or certifications in:
- Business Administration
- Construction Management
- Project Management
- Engineering or Engineering Technology
- Electrical Technology
- Or a related field
Previous office, internship, customer service, or administrative experience is helpful but not required.
