Position: A/P/A Videographer & Equipment Manager
Fall 2026
Seeking a graduate or experienced undergraduate student videographer and editor to film in-person public programs (e.g. panels, screenings, exhibition openings, and conferences), and special projects, including oral history interviews. The videographer will film and edit event and interview footage; create engaging highlight clips for online platforms including social media; ensure all shared media is captioned to meet NYU’s digital accessibility standards; update and manage media and equipment inventories; and digitize content from the A/P/A Institute media archive. Media archive analog formats include VHS, beta, cassette, and MiniDV tapes and some work will require the use of the NYU Digital Studio.
Qualifications
Candidates should have A/V and filmmaking experience. Should have advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop; transferring and rendering digital media and MiniDV tape formats; and be reliable, organized, personable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. Some experience in photography and in using the following equipment is preferred:

- Sony PXW-Z150
- Canon R6
Hours and Work Location
The student is expected to work 10-15 hours per week of combined shift and event time. Shifts must be worked in-office and during business hours (Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. E.T.). Each shift must be at least three hours in duration. Below are current Fall program dates (more TBA), during which the candidate is required to be available to work:
Thursday, October 29, 2026, 2:00-9:30 p.m.
Friday, October 30, 2026 3:00-9:00 p.m.
Thursday, December 3, 2026 4:00-9:00 p.m.

Salary
Undergraduate students: $20.00 per hour
Graduate students: This position will pay the new Union minimum wage once there is a new Local 2110 UAW Collective Bargaining Agreement. The current Union minimum wage agreement of $30 is expiring on August 31, 2026.

This Fall 2026 position will begin Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Pending a performance review, reappointment for the Spring 2027 semester will be considered.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Law, the hourly base salary range for student employment positions are $17 per hour for undergraduate students while the graduate students’ wage is to be determined by the Local 2110 UAW Collective Bargaining Agreement. The current Local 2110 UAW Collective Bargaining Agreement expires August 31, 2026. As soon as an agreement is reached, NYU will honor all wage standards set by the agreement. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
