7th-11th Grade English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher

South Bay Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Language Arts teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is responsible for teaching ELA to students in grades 7-11, fostering strong reading, writing, critical thinking, and communication skills while helping students grow academically, socially, and spiritually in a Christ-centered environment.

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about literature and writing, enjoys building relationships with students, and is committed to helping students become confident readers, writers, and thinkers. This teacher should be comfortable integrating a biblical worldview into classroom discussions and instruction.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging ELA instruction for students in grades 7-11.
• Teach literature, grammar, vocabulary, composition, and writing skills.
• Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth and achievement.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Assess student learning and provide timely feedback on assignments and writing.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support school-wide goals and initiatives.
• Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview throughout instruction.
• Maintain classroom management procedures that encourage respect, responsibility, and student success.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree; degree in Education or a related field preferred.
• Bachelor's degree and previous experience in education.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Experience working with middle and high school students preferred.
