Company Description LEAPS Therapy Clinic provides pediatric speech, occupational, and physical therapy services to children and families in Alabama. The clinic offers a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment focused on helping children reach developmental, communication, and functional goals. In addition to therapy services, LEAPS operates a therapeutic preschool and homeschool program designed to support children with diverse learning and developmental needs. The Pell City location also provides academic tutoring, giving families access to both clinical and educational support under one roof. Team members work closely with families, educators, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive, child-centered care. This contract, on-site Speech Language Pathologist Assistant role with flexible scheduling is based in Jefferson County including Birmingham, Madison County and Talladega County. The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant will support a licensed SLP by delivering evidence-based speech and language therapy for pediatric clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing direct therapy sessions, maintaining accurate and timely documentation, collaborate with other therapists,  educators, and families to support each child’s goals. The role also involves participating in care planning meetings, monitoring progress, adjusting interventions as needed, and educating caregivers on strategies to reinforce therapy at home and in school settings all under the supervision of a SLP. The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant is expected to uphold clinical best practices and contribute to a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in communication disorders or related field in speech-language pathology or audiology or equivalent. 
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in pediatric speech and language disorders, including articulation, language delay, fluency, social communication, and early intervention.
• Ability to conduct quality intervention, document progress in a clear, organized, and compliant manner under the supervision of an SLP.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with families, caregivers, educators, and interdisciplinary clinical teams.
• Comfort working in a school-like or clinic-based pediatric environment, including therapeutic preschool and community based programs throughout the state of Alabama.
• Organizational and time-management skills to manage a caseload, schedule sessions, and meet documentation and reporting timelines.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuing education, and adherence to professional and ethical standards.
