Tax Intern
- Assist with the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals
- Organize, review, and input client tax documents and financial information into tax preparation software.
- Support tax professionals with workpapers, account reconciliations, and documentation requests.
- Conduct basic tax research and summarize findings under the supervision of senior staff.
- Help identify missing information, discrepancies, or potential issues in client-provided documents.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to tax engagements, including scheduling, scanning, filing, tracking return status, and maintaining organized records.
- Communicate professionally with team members and, when appropriate, assist with client follow-up requests.
- Maintain confidentiality of client, employee, and firm/company information.
- Perform other tax, accounting, or administrative duties as assigned.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Completion of introductory accounting coursework; tax coursework preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
