Job Description

Position Title: SVLC Learning Facilitator/Teacher

Reports to: Center Director

Qualifications:

1. State of Michigan Secondary Education Teacher certification.
2. Motivate all students to be successful in their coursework.
3. Develop meaningful relationships with students to foster success.
4. Teachers must be strong customer service leaders for students, families and community members.
5. Understand the use of technology in both instructional and operational settings.
6. Ability to initiate and complete tasks with self-direction in a timely manner.
7. Excellent speaking and grammar skills, proofreading skills, oral and written communications skills.
8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Primary Function:

The primary function of the on-site virtual education teacher is to foster learning for all students enrolled with Success VLC.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Complete weekly progress and metric reports.
2. Grading all student assignments and tests.
3. Tutor students both in-person and virtually.
4. Have multiple conversations with students (and parents, when necessary) each week encouraging students to stay on task.
5. When necessary institute student academic behavior plans and help initiate academic interventions.
6. Assist all paraprofessionals in implementing behavioral plans.
7. Assist in the enrollment and orientation of all prospective students.
8. Facilitate training on all software and online programs for new students.
9. Organize and present student orientations.
10. Be an active participant in all professional development sessions and in-service learning opportunities and objectives.
11. Attend weekly meetings as requested by the Center Director. Monthly meetings will also require attendance for various teams.
12. Attend IEP meetings for students on an as needed basis.
13. Electronically track devices by signing them in and out to students on a daily basis.
14. Assist with daily cleaning at the center including bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting and sanitizing.
15. Perform all other duties as assigned

Benefits:

Contract will be for 185 days attending our physical center locations, summer session paid hourly, pay will be based on experience.

Full time teachers will be eligible for health insurance.
