Junior Interior Designer

The Live Design Project (TLDP) is a global interior design platform built to help junior designers grow through real client briefs, not made-up exercises. We connect juniors with experienced design mentors and international clients across residential, hospitality, commercial, retail, and F&B.

We're looking for 3rd-year Interior Design students and fresh graduates (within 12 months) to join our junior designer pool, remote and project-based.

You'll create concept proposals, design outputs, and presentation decks, working closely with TLDP mentors (interior designers with over 10 years of experience) and learning fast through feedback and real deadlines.

The work

  • Developing concept directions and mood boards that respond to the client's brief
  • Creating layouts and floor plans
  • Producing 3D renders to bring your proposal to life
  • Building clear presentation decks that communicate your thinking
  • Iterating based on mentor feedback, showing adaptability, detail, and decision-making
  • Committing to deadlines once you opt into a project (reliability is a superpower)

You'll work closely with TLDP mentors who guide, review, and help you sharpen your proposal at every stage.

How TLDP works

TLDP uses a competitive real-brief model:

  1. A client submits a real project brief
  2. 3-5 TLDP junior designers submit proposals
  3. The client selects the winning proposal

You also get freelance-like flexibility:

  • You choose which projects you want to join
  • Project types and sizes vary, from smaller residential spaces to larger hospitality briefs
  • Don't take a brief unless you can commit to the timeline

Pay (for winning proposals)

If your proposal is selected by the client, you'll be compensated at $8 USD per square metre (m²) of the awarded project area, with tiered rates applying beyond 62.5m².

For example, a 40m² residential proposal would earn $320 USD if selected.

What we're looking for

  • You're a 3rd-year Interior Design student, or graduated within the last year (e.g. if you graduated in May 2025, you can still join and stay on our platform to work on projects until December 2026)
  • You can work remotely with stable internet and a laptop that can handle design software
  • You're proficient in at least one of AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit (or equivalent)
  • You communicate clearly, manage your time well, and meet the deadlines you commit to

The style we're after (what "strong" looks like)

Clear, client-ready proposals have:

  • Strong concept clarity: a story the client can understand
  • Practical layouts, where applicable
  • Visuals that sell the idea: renders that explain, not just decorate
  • Decks that are structured, concise, and persuasive

If that sounds like your vibe, we'd love to hear from you.
