Laboratory Technician I

Location: Cleveland, OH
Employment Type: 12-Month Contract (W2)
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour

Work Schedule

Shift: Overnight Shift – 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM

Working Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday

Training: Initial training will take place during first-shift hours. Training schedule details will be provided during onboarding.

Position Overview

The Laboratory Technician I will support routine laboratory activities, including sample preparation, testing, equipment operation, and documentation while working alongside experienced laboratory professionals.

Candidates with a recent technical certification

Individuals with an Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field

Candidates with academic laboratory experience, coursework, internships, or laboratory certifications are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine laboratory testing and analysis according to established procedures.

Prepare samples, solutions, and materials required for testing.

Conduct basic chemical and/or biological testing activities.

Operate laboratory instruments and equipment to support testing processes.

Record measurements, observations, and test results accurately.

Assist with laboratory setup and preparation for testing activities.

Perform routine equipment checks and support basic preventive maintenance activities.

Follow laboratory safety procedures and quality standards.

Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records.

Qualifications

Recent certification, Associate’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred.

Recent graduates and candidates beginning their laboratory careers are encouraged to apply.

Basic understanding of laboratory practices, scientific methods, and safety procedures.

Ability to follow written procedures and accurately document results.

Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new laboratory techniques.

Comfortable working an overnight schedule.

Preferred Background

Laboratory coursework, certifications, internships, research projects, or hands-on academic experience.

Familiarity with laboratory equipment, testing procedures, or sample handling.

Interest in building experience in areas such as:

Laboratory Operations

Quality Control (QC)

Quality Assurance (QA)

Research & Development (R&D)

Chemical or Biological Testing
